Meet Conrad

Some people were meant to be parents. I believe Sarah was one of them. When I first met Sarah for her maternity photos I knew it. She was so happy and so content with being pregnant. Her happiness has only grown as she and her husband, Dan, welcome baby Conrad into their family.

When I first got there little Conrad was sleeping. Just how I like them! :)

Then after we tried to to naked photos, he woke up and did not go back to sleep….so we worked with it! Daddy took a turn holding the little man and I got some detail shots.

Dad is a musician so I wanted to do something to show the families love for music.

Conrad will be a great little baby, hiccups and all! He is so beautiful. Thanks Sarah and Dan for sharing him with me! ;) Enjoy the photos! :)

Twinkling Lights – Jillian and Colin part two

Ok, here is part two from Jillian and Colin’s session. After a quick coffee break to warm up (they had sat in the snow, and I had laid down in it…it was cold!) we headed to the Winter Glow at the Botanical Gardens. I love the botanical gardens, but to see it light up like that was simply magical! The lights were awesome.

As we walked around I was some cute little families. I can not wait to take my son there! ;) The Botanical Gardens are filled with lots of gazebos, swings and all things you would want to find in a garden. We put some of those things to good use.

They also had burn buckets to help people keep warm. We stopped to warm our hands more than once! ;)

And of corse, being a garden there had to be some flowers lit up too! :)

If you have not gone to the Winter Glow…GO! It is awesome! They have so many things to see.

Snowflakes of Love – Boise Photographer

This is a session I have been looking forward to for a while. Jillian contacted me from FLORIDA and told me that she was flying in to town to visit her boyfriend and wanted to get some photos. As we talked more She said she wanted to get her photos in the snow! I knew right away that this would be a fun couple! First we went for a drive to find some good lighting…

Then we went to play in the snow!

Jillian had given me some photo ideas that she liked, and this hear in the snow was one of them. I love it when my clients have an idea of what they want! ;) This turned out harder than we thought! The First heart we made was too big, then the second hear we made was to small! ;) And I tried to climb an ice covered fence to get above them enough to get the heart, but I think we finally pulled it off! :)

Colin is in the Air Force, so when we saw this spot, all of us knew it was perfect!

Then it was time for some sledding!

And a pretty sunset!

We almost had two sessions because the location change was pretty drastic, and we had some time we had to waste in between, so I am going to do two blogs! Come back tomorrow for more of Jillian and Colin! :)

Josephine, a long lost friend

Remember those collage days? I had SEVERAL roommates (I switched roommates every year for 5 years, and the least amount of girls ever living together was 3), some I loved, some I tolerated. Some I adored and am still friends with now. This is one of many of those girls. Josephine, raised in Eugene like my husband. I first met her through my husband. We became good friends. Then she moved away, and though I still talk to her, it was not the same. She came to Boise to visit for thanksgiving and decided to have some photos taken. She is going through a 6 month cleanse to better herself emotionally, spiritually, and physically, so I will be taking her photos again when I go to Portland this summer.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Do you remember that days when you use to wait anxiously for the first snow? Remember when snow was an amazement, not just a inconvenience? Sure shoveling the driveway is a cold tedious chore, and driving is slowed down considerably, but snow is wonderful isnt it!?! :)

Today we took elijah out in the snow, and he helped his daddy build a snowman! It was not a big snowman, but it was still fun! :)

Elijah was having fun adding more and more snow to the snowmans head.

It gave the snowman a cone head! ;)

He really had alot of fun! I am so thankful that I can watch my son have fun and enjoy one of lives little wonders…SNOW! This holiday season I encourage you to go outside and let loose! Build a snowman, have a snowball fight, or go sledding! HAVE FUN! Enjoy this time with your kids, or by yourself, but just do it! You will be glad you did!

But Please, dont eat Yellow snow! :)

Boise Photographers

Today, in the snow, I photographed another Boise Photographer. Macey Snelson from Motormouth Studios. It was a wet and cold time, But a total blast! We did some fun things, but I just wanted to share one photo with you…I hope you enjoy it! :)

I am only sharing one photo, because Macey and I decided to edit the photos of ourselves, so the other photos of her are not edited yet. Macey also took photos of me! I might share some of those with you too! :)

This year I will be doing $75.00 mini sessions. The photo sessions can take place anywhere in Boise and the surrounding areas, but will be limited to 30 minutes. 25 5×7 flat holiday cards will be included, as well as 5 of your favorite photos on a disc.

Montana, my heart belongs to you!

I love Montana! I do! It is my home. I recently got to go to Montana to visit for almost 2 weeks! It was great, and probably the longest I have been there since I left to go to college. I was a working girl, so I never got to go home for the long summer breaks. What do I love about Montana you ask? Well, I love the people! I love that the largest town is still relatively small (almost half the size of Boise) and that everyone, for the most part, is friendly. I love that I can drive just about anywhere and see cows grazing and wheat growing on the side of the road. I love that I know the roads like the back of my hand, and even the names of the smallest towns are written into my memory! I Love the openness and beauty of it all. From the majestic Rocky mountains, to the cool of the lake. From the open fields to the mighty River beds. From Highway 2 to Interstate 90…it is my home! Here are a few photos I took while taking my tour of the western part of the state, and if you have never had the pleasure of driving trough Montana, do it!!! what are you waiting for?!? Its great!

Oh…its haying season, by the way! :) The Next photo I took while I was driving…I like to call it my safe version of drive by shootings! ;) However, I dont recommend anyone trying it…both hands on the wheel please! :)

I did not bring a tripod with me, but thought I would still try to take a photo of the full moon…it is a little blurry, but I think it looks like a painting! :)

Wildflowers make me happy!

You cant go to Big sky country and not take a picture of the sky! :)

I got to reconnect and see a lot of great people: family, friends, and friends that are like family!! I love you all!!! I got to get some much needed fresh air and I got to clear my head. I also dreamed up some pretty creative things to try with my photography! ;) (A 12 hour drive there, and a 12 hour drive back gives you a lot of thinking time…one reason why I secretly want to be a truck driver!) When I get old, I want to have a porch swing over looking a golden field of wheat with the rockies in the background, and family all around!!! Thank God Im a country girl! Ahhhh…life is good! ;)
