Well we went to Wyoming, for my brothers wedding!  My little guy, Eman, was suppose to be a ring bearer.  He did a great job.  He walked down the aisle, stood there, and payed attention…looking very serious.  I was very proud of him.  Then he did something unexpected, and stole the show!

The Bride and groom already said it was ok for him to walk off the stage, and had positioned me in the front row so he could easily get to me.  What happened next was unexpected!

I was not the photographer at the wedding, I was the sister, and the ring bearers mom.  But unknown to me, I was also the photographers mom!  I never let Elijah play with my camera.  It, and almost everything pertaining to it such as lenses, batteries, and memory cards, are STRICTLY off limits!  I know he has seen me shoot before, but I did not realize he understood what I was doing!

Notice how he, like his mom, is not afraid to lie on the ground to get great shots!  This is why I wear pants to a wedding.  Now granted, I will not be lying on the stage during the ceremony, but he understands, its about making the bride look good!  :)

If you look at the screen, you can see his excellent composition skills!  ;)  Haha!  It was great to watch him.  I guess it goes to show you, be careful what you do around children…because eventually they will copy you!

Like all wedding photographers, he was tired after his long day of “work.”

Know he has a better understanding as to why mommy is so tired after shooting a wedding!  We have some of his photos posted on facebook, so be sure to take a look at a photographer in the making!  He will be available to second shoot for me in the year 2022!  :)

Road Trip!

June 2, 2010

I recently got to go on a road trip to Casper Wyoming!  If you pay attention to my blog, you know why I went…but I am not posting any photos from the reason yet…you you will have to wait.

As some of you know, I was born, and for the most part raised in God’s Country, MONTANA!  I would not have it any other way!  I love Montana and all it has to offer, and it will always be my home!   However, sometime between birth and 6th grade, I lived in Casper, Wyoming.  I only lived there for 9 months of my life, but I am still friends with alot of the people I met there!  I just want to say a quick Thank you to all the Wyoming people, not just in casper, that have played a part in my upbringing and helping to make me the great, wonderful, and humble :) person I am today!  Im glad the event that took place this last weekend was in Casper, so I could reconnect with all of you, and see you all again.

For those of you who have never been to Wyoming…they have some great natural resources there…one of them being WIND!  Im glad to see they are putting it to use!  This beautiful photo was taken out the window in a moving vehicle, with me holding on to my camera for dear life.  Let me tell you…The wind was blowing!!!!

We also decided to use the wind to our advantage.  E-man has recently become interested in kites.  Here in Boise he runs up and down our long gravel driveway, with a kite behind him and about 6 inches of string let out.  He loves it!  While we were in Wyoming he asked us several times if he could fly a kite.  We went and got him one, and to his horror…it actually flew…and he did not even have to run!  Now, I say horror, because he was so worried it was going to float away and he would never get it back…he kept yelling up at the sky “OH NO! Kite mine!”   Haha!  I love being a mom!  :)

Stay tuned for more Wyoming trip photos soon!

Thats right folks!  Im getting a new sister, and am very happy about it!  ;)  These two love birds are tying the knot!   I am going to the wedding as a sister, not a photographer, but I might take a few photos and share them with you all…we will see!  ;)  Because of the wedding, I will be away form the internet, so if you need to reach me, please call my cell: 208.724.0371.  If I dont answer I am probably hanging out with my family, so leave a message.  I will be able to book your wedding or portrait session while I am gone so if you have a date approaching, give me a call!

Can you believe it!? 2009 is coming to an end, and 2010 is here. It is time to say goodbye to my 2009 brides and start focusing on the great 2010 brides I have so far. This las year has been alot of fun for me and I really appreciate everyone who gave me a chance my first year owning my own business! I know i have made the right choice for me and my family, and appreciate your support! :)

Now for a little Best of review:

Who could forget the beauty and simplicity of the stolen moment of this kiss from Suzanne and Drew’s wedding:

I also really LOVED her bouquet

Then we had Elizabeth and David get married at the Hey Barn Event Center, this was a fun creative wedding!

I also love this photo because I feel like the girls look like magazine models!

Then we had Jayme and Robert get married at Christ’s Chapel.  I LOVED this church, perfect for a smaller wedding!

Sharissa and Jeff also had a great wedding, filled with dancing and fun! This is a page from their album I did for them.  It is a two page spread.

Good Bye 2009!  Hello 2010!  This Boise wedding photographer has had a lot of fun!  Im excited to see what Brides, grooms, and creative ideas we get to work with in 2010!

Liz and Anthony are a really fun couple.  They contacted me about using one of the Holiday give back sessions as an engagement session!  I, of course, said YES!!!  It was really fun watching these two interact.  They worked so well together; I barley had to tell them how to pose.  They just “fit” together.  I could tell they were deeply in love and I know they will have a great life together.

We decided to do a “urban” session.  We walked around Boise, and enjoyed all the town has to offer.  camp-1

They taught me something new…The Linen Building has a Sunday art market…you can guarantee I will be stopping by there on an upcoming Sunday!  :)  The Building is also decorated with some cool graffiti in the back!  camp-3

Want to know something crazy?!?  These two lovebirds use to live in Billings Montana, a place I have spent some time as well!  ;)

Anthony really wanted Liz to be serious and not smile…Liz Loves life, so this was a hard feat.  This is the best “not smiling” photo we got!  :)

My favorite photo…I love the passion that this shows, Anthony really likes Liz!  :)  Not only did I like this photos but so did the people driving by that were watching us!  ;)   camp-5

The wedding is not in Idaho, so you may not see this lovely couple again, but I defiantly would not mind photographing such easy subjects again!  I had a lot of fun with them!  ;)

This last wedding was a ton of fun!  The bride and groom really love each other, you can see it in their eyes!  They are the youngest couple I have ever had the privilege to photograph a wedding for.

The bride was more than a little excited to see her Groom as she was getting ready…sandjwedding-6

At first she was very calm, but as the day went on, and she got her dress on, she was just plain happy!  sandjwedding-7

The groom was pretty excited too!  sandjwedding-9

Sharissa and Jeff chose to do things the traditional way and not see each other before the ceremony. Here is Jeff’s first look at his soon to be wife…sandjwedding-10

And Sharissa’s first glance at him…sandjwedding-11

Of course when you have a wedding, it always helps me out when you have beautiful people to photograph!  :)  These girls were no exception.  And I might add they were pretty fun, and great dancers!  ;)sandjwedding-8

The boys were fun too, When I asked them their names, I thought they gave me fake ones!  They didn’t!  They are just that awesome!  One did tell me he was a model though, Im not sure if he was serious or not..can you guess which one?sandjwedding-13

Off to the reception!  sandjwedding-12

Here is another cake by the fabulous Heather, and I dont think I am the only one that thought it looked good!  :)sandjwedding-20

The first dance…sandjwedding-21

…and the rings!sandjwedding-28

I think they were just a little happy about being married!sandjwedding-30

Sharissa and Jeff~

I hope you guys keep the love and enthusiasm for each other for years to come.  Have fun in Disneyland!  The rest of your photos will be done soon!  :) It was a really fun wedding, you did an awesome job, and now that it is all done, RELAX!!!  :)

Jayme and Robert have tied the knot.  They got married this Saturday at the Christ’s Church, the little chapel off of the BSU campus.  Their wedding was beautiful, and the bride was like a model!  She knew how to pose and was very photogenic, making my job a little easier!  :)

I was suppose to meet Jayme and her mom (who was also the made of honor) at the hotel for makeup, and preparation.  Imagine my surprise when Jayme’s dad answered the door, and Jayme was not there yet!  I was not sure if I was at the right door or not! :)  Soon Jayme arrived, and we got down to business.jandr-1

As you can see she is a gorgeous bride…and she has great taste in shoes!jandr-10

Robert had his son be the Best man, and he was one of the cutest best men I have seen!  :)

And now the bride and groom!jandr-5

When Jayme and I met to discuss what she wanted from a wedding photographer, she mentioned she liked the selective color photos…I think this one is great, and very dramatic!

R-man and J-man were very happy to be cousins…and I think grandma was excited too…jandr-6

Now off to the reception.  The reception was held at River Rock Alehouse, which created a fun laid back atmosphere, and provided LOTS of delicious food to eat! And a cake by Heather!

The night ended with lots of fun and dancing.jandr-13

jandr-14

I must say, even though there was a lot of dancing, no one could quite move as well as J-man!  He defiantly knew how to get his grove on, complete with the robot, and MJ moves!  :)     jandr-15

Jayme and Robert~ Thanks for letting me take part in your beautiful day.  I hope you have many years of happiness together, and will treasure the memories made at your wedding forever.

I am in my hometown in Montana, visiting my family and my brother that just got home from Iraq!  My sister asked if I could take some pictures of her friends for her to decorate her dorm room with.   Last year she had a lot of empty picture frames, but after this adventure, I don’t think she will have that problem.  My sister is a little crazy, and like me, would never turn down a dare, so I knew if anyone would be up for a trash the dress session, she would.  Normally these sessions are done with brides after the wedding day, but because none of these girls are married we did it with formals, all purchased at Goodwill for less than $15!

Meet Sharla, my sister…hang on guys she is single and easily the nicest, genuine Christian girl you will meet.  Not to mention, you will get an abb workout from all the  laughing if you are around her!mud7

Meet Kirsten, my neighbor that I have known almost all her life, and I must say…WOW!  She has grown up in to a beautiful person!mud13

And Tynagh, who loves animals and can convince anyone she knows to give her a piggyback ride.mud6

Together these girls are three peas in a pod, and ready for anything!mud2

We also had a young man named Sterling join us, and we are glad he did.  We had told him what we were going to do and he said, “I want to come!”  We thought he was joking, but he showed up, and I’m pretty sure he thought we were crazy!  :) mud3

Now,  I live by the river, and almost always put on a long sleeve shirt around dusk because of mosquitoes.  I’m not sure why we did not think of it, but as a facebook update put it this morning “229 mosquito bites later I finally found something I’m allergic to…”  and that 229 is NO exaggeration!  I have a mosquito bite in between my toes, and everywhere else!  It was crazy, in fact if you look closely, you can see some mosquitoes on the girls!  They were such troopers, and when you get pictures like these it just might be worth it!mud12

I don’t know about you guys, but I think there are some possible modeling careers in the works for these girls…mud4

Thanks girls, and Sterling!  you guys rock and I am glad you had fun, despite being a buffet for mosquitoes!mud1

If any Boise brides, or friends want pictures like this, let me know!  And to all my Montana readers, I WILL travel!  :)

I had so much fun at the wedding I shot this last Sunday!  I have been excited to be the Wedding Photographer at this wedding since they booked me, so this post is a little picture heavy.  I just could not narrow it down anymore!  :)  The wedding was located at this AWESOME location called Hey Barn Event Center!  This venue is so cool, I could have spent hours there just looking at all the neat things and little touches they had all around to add to the atmosphere.  If you are thinking about getting married there DO IT!

I met the Bride that morning at A Renewed Image, a local solon that does airbrush makeup.  I had never seen airbrush makeup applied before.  Wow!  It was great!  Not only did it look natural, but it was fast to apply, and photographed wonderfully.

After the Bride’s hair and makeup were complete we headed to the Barn.  I got there just a little before the bride, which was perfect for me to do some detail shots.  I know how much all you brides plan every detail, so as your favorite Boise Wedding Photographer, :) I strive to capture them all for you.  Here are a few:

The Bride and Groom opted NOT to see each other before the ceremony.  It was cool to see them react to each other once they did see one another.  I think this couple will be together for a long time to come!

Look, they wanted to run toward each other before the ceremony, but we HAD to keep them apart!  :)

The Bride’s brother, Greg, had to give the Groom “the talk!”

Elizabeth and David~

Thanks for letting me be apart of your day!  I really loved getting to know you and taking your pictures!  Have a great time in Yellowstone!   Your online gallery will be up soon!  :)

Hello!

Well, I love photographing everyones special moments, as you know, capturing a second of time for you to reflect on forever.  It is the greatest, and I am thankful that I can do it as a career!  One thing you may not know about me is that I did not have a professional wedding photographer at my own wedding.  I know! SHOCKING huh?  So after editing and editing photos of OTHER peoples weddings I decided to see what I could do with the 100’s of photos family and friends took of my wedding.  They are actually beautiful and captured the moments quite well!  Seth and I got married in a secluded campground in Idaho City, and we wore our bathing suits and jumped in the river!  it was great!!!  I LOVED it!  I have ordered an album of my wedding, and love it so much I decided to make these albums available to all of you, for your weddings.  If you want pricing info let me know!  :)

Here is what the albums look like:

On a different note:  I have entered a contest similar to the biggest loser for photographers HERE.  They will be updating how we are doing every tuesday so be sure to check their blog out and cheer me on!  :)
