This is the second half of the Frosts photos shoot.  Marsha had her brother in town visiting!  So they got some family photos taken too!  And I am glad they did!  They are such an adorable little family!  This family shoot was taken in Kathryn Albertson park.  I love Kathryn because there are so many great locations to take great photos…water features, birds, flowers, grass…you name it its there!  ;)

I love the baby…she was a walking machine and full of laughs and smiles!  :)

And big sister was enjoying life and loving every minute of it!  ;)

Seriously, this family is picture perfect!  Im glad they came along!!!

The Frost Family

July 14, 2010

I recently photographed the Frost family. They were the 100th fan on my facebook page and won a free session! ;)  I LOVE this family!  I was so excited when Marsha won, because I happened to know her and her lovely husband from college.  Now they have a cute little boy and let me tell you, the little boy is about a year younger than my son, and is a ball of energy.  We decided to do the photos at Kathryn Albertson Park.  When the Frosts arrived, the baby was sleeping, but as soon as he heard the sound of water he woke up!

Anyone that knows much about toddlers knows that if they wake up before they are ready…it is a TRAGEDY!!!  They will be grumpy, they will cry, and they will be stubborn and want their way!  ;)   I know my son is like this!!!  I have been mad several times at my dog for waking up Elijah during a nap.  Marsha and Mike handled it like a pair of pros!  Even though the little man was a little grouchy, we cod some great photos of him, picking flowers, running, and just being a boy!

And even though alot of the family photos with all three of them had an escapee like this: We figured out a way to get some family photos with them all it it!  :)  We just had to tie the little guy down on daddys shoulders!

Mike and Marsha~ Thanks for letting me take your photos and for being awesome patient parents!  It was a lot of fun!  I love the little guy’s personality and excitement for life!  Im excited to get our boys together and watch them play!  I hope you enjoy the photos!  :)  It was great to meet and photograph your extended family as well!  :)  I’ll make a separate post about them later!  ;)

And just because I know my days have felt a little crazy lately, I will leave you all with this!  IT IS OK TO CRY…sometimes!  ;)

Mangoes!

July 11, 2010

I love mangoes…

I remember this song form my childhood… It was going through my head during this photos shoot.  If you know anything about me you know that I am almost always humming a song…and is is probably some obscure song that you have never heard of, or a country song, or rap…I know a weird mix…but that is what I like!  ;) This song goes…

I like bananas! I know that mangoes are sweet! I like papayas (PAPAYAS!), they’re my favorite treat. But nothing can beat the sweet love of God!

HAHA! I hope you all have a nice day with a great song in your heart!  :)

Carrie’s baby bump

June 30, 2010

One thing I love about being a photographer is seeing people in different walks of life, and helping to capture memories for them where they are at that moment.  This is so true when it comes to Maternity photography.  Carrie is preparing to do one of the hardest jobs a woman can do. Raise a child as a single parent.  She is a very beautiful and strong woman and will be an excellent mother.  She is not letting her circumstances stand between her and her love for her child, and finding joy in life,  and that is evident in the photos  I took!

I just want to do a little plug really quick…Carrie is an excellent hair dresser!  I would recommend her for any wedding, or just to get your hair done.  She is currently working at the Lion’s Den, so go make an appointment with her!!!!  ;)

We started inside and did some fun black on white photos. Some of these got a little sexy, and facebook already told me I could not post them, so to keep this a family blog  I will not post them here either.  Let me tell you, this Boise maternity photographer LOVES photographing people like Carrie, who are comfortable with who they are and confident.  If you are shy, that is ok too, I like playing it safe sometimes to, and I will work with you to get the best photos we can!  ;)  But I promise you, the more confidence you show, the better your photos will be!  ;)  If you are interested in boudoir photography contact me and I will tell you about our packages.

I love that Carrie has so many interesting tattoos.  When I asked her what one is her favorite she said the “keep the faith” one on her right arm.  So I decided to do something to show it off a little.

Carrie’s yard had random traffic cones in it…which I LOVED!!!

She was wearing her favorite jeans, which dont really fit to well right now.  She likes them because “They make my but look good!”  So, we took some bump from the back photos!  ;)

Carrie~  I hope you had as much fun as I did!  thanks for letting me take your photos and for being willing to try fun things!  I can’t wait to see miss Bailee!!!!  If she is half as pretty as you she will be a heartbreaker!  :)  Love ya Girl!  And if you need anything, you got my number!  ;)

Elijah is 3!

June 24, 2010

My baby is 3!  I can not believe it!  He has been 3 for almost a week now.  I am late getting Emans 3 year pics done partly because we had family in town, partly because we got the flu (more on that later), and partly because ask any photographer and they will tell you that photographing your own kid is hard!  Im not sure why, maybe it is because of the extreme familiarity and outright stubbornness kids have with their own parents.  I think I only got 3 photos of him actually looking at me.  I did get alot that I loved, though!

I had originally planed on taking Eman to the Idaho Botanical Gardens to use the “zone 3″ as a prop.  But getting there was quite an adventure in itself.  After having the flu all day Tuesday (I’ll spare you the details), I, for some stupid reason, decided that Wednesday I was well enough to ride my bike to the Idaho Botanical Gardens towing Eman in the bike trailer.  We got there just fine, and even saw giraffes poking their heads over the zoo fence along the way!  We spent about an hour and a half walking around and playing!

Soon Elijah started asking “Were is the Awa?”  )awa ia his word for water…dont ask me why, cuz im not sure.)  I told him it was at the bike and we could go home now if he wanted.  on the way to the bike Elijah had other ideas!

By the time we  got back to the bike, Eman was less then interested in getting his picture taken.

So off we went, with me only about 12 hours in to recovery from the flu and about 8 miles to ride home.  One thing you should know about me is I am a water drinker.  In fact it is almost the only thing I ever drink.  So dehydration is not really ever a problem for me.  The other thing you need to know is I am deathly allergic to milk.  Im  not talking lactose intolerant…Im talking ALLERGIC!  Well I thought it was a warm day, I would stop and buy Eman an ice cream sandwich.  He ate half and said he did not want more.  I didn’t want it to melt all over the bike trailer, so I ate the other half…and then 3 miles in I started to puke!  I toughed it out and rode to the nearest playground and then texted my friend, DJ, to come rescue me with his truck.  (Thanks DJ!!!)  It is a good thing I did because after I asked him to I puked again.  Lesson learned…dont ride your bike 13 miles and eat ice cream when you are recovering from the flu!  But it was for a good cause right?  quality time with my baby, and cute pictures like this one:

Elijah~  I am so proud of you turning 3!  You are such a big boy and mommy’s little man!  I love that you can always make me smile and my heart warm!  I am excited to see what this year has in store for you!  Love you, baby!

If you want to see more photos of Eman turning 3 visit my Facebook page!  And as always, contact me if you would like to book a session.

Thats right folks!  Im getting a new sister, and am very happy about it!  ;)  These two love birds are tying the knot!   I am going to the wedding as a sister, not a photographer, but I might take a few photos and share them with you all…we will see!  ;)  Because of the wedding, I will be away form the internet, so if you need to reach me, please call my cell: 208.724.0371.  If I dont answer I am probably hanging out with my family, so leave a message.  I will be able to book your wedding or portrait session while I am gone so if you have a date approaching, give me a call!

I have been helping a friend out, watching her daughter, while she was working.  I watched her the Week before Mothers day, so we had just enough time to get a present ready!

We went to the dollar store and picked out a frame and a couple decorations.  Then I helped Lani glue on the gems, popsicle sticks and the butterflies to the frame.  We toped it off with an 8×10 of this above collage!  Because her mom knows I am a boise family photographer, I dont think she was surprised photos were involved!  ;)   She has not, however seen the other photos taken  that day, so I thought I would share some now!  :)

She was SO excited to find this pinecone!

and one more:

She called this “the woods” even though it is just Veterans Memorial, the park by my house!  I love kids…they say the funniest and cutest things!  :)

Alyssa~your daughter is truly a great girl!  You have done a great job raising her and teaching her manners.  Im glad eman gets to hang out with “the girl” so he can see what it is like to be “big.”  Keep up the great work, mom!  I hope you liked your mothers day gift, she was very excited to give it to you!  :)

We are Family

April 6, 2010

Sometimes when I was fighting with my brothers or sisters my mom would say “They are the only family you have got!” For most of us, that is true. We only have one family so we should try to get along with them. Some of us, however, are lucky enough to have two families. One of those people is Becca. Becca was adopted when she was 3 days old. The family she was adopted into family is a great family, and her sister is one of my best friends! recently, she had the opportunity to spend time with her other family. Her biological family. As it turns out, I know her biological family too!

We headed to Veterans Memorial Park in Boise Idaho to take some family photos. The family was fun, and I think they turned out great.

Grace wants to be a photographer too! I think it is great to know what you want to do at a young age. She will probably be taking better pictures than me by the time she is my age!

Michel is a senior. He has eaten my Dads “breakfast pizza” and his “Breakfast burritos” [which are really the same thing presented on different forms of carbs! :) ] as well as other random things my dad has cooked for the mens breakfast at his church in Montana.

Overall, it was a fun time! Im glad they got to come to Boise to visit, and that they let me be their family photographer for the day! ;)
