Carrie’s baby bump

June 30, 2010

One thing I love about being a photographer is seeing people in different walks of life, and helping to capture memories for them where they are at that moment.  This is so true when it comes to Maternity photography.  Carrie is preparing to do one of the hardest jobs a woman can do. Raise a child as a single parent.  She is a very beautiful and strong woman and will be an excellent mother.  She is not letting her circumstances stand between her and her love for her child, and finding joy in life,  and that is evident in the photos  I took!

I just want to do a little plug really quick…Carrie is an excellent hair dresser!  I would recommend her for any wedding, or just to get your hair done.  She is currently working at the Lion’s Den, so go make an appointment with her!!!!  ;)

We started inside and did some fun black on white photos. Some of these got a little sexy, and facebook already told me I could not post them, so to keep this a family blog  I will not post them here either.  Let me tell you, this Boise maternity photographer LOVES photographing people like Carrie, who are comfortable with who they are and confident.  If you are shy, that is ok too, I like playing it safe sometimes to, and I will work with you to get the best photos we can!  ;)  But I promise you, the more confidence you show, the better your photos will be!  ;)  If you are interested in boudoir photography contact me and I will tell you about our packages.

I love that Carrie has so many interesting tattoos.  When I asked her what one is her favorite she said the “keep the faith” one on her right arm.  So I decided to do something to show it off a little.

Carrie’s yard had random traffic cones in it…which I LOVED!!!

She was wearing her favorite jeans, which dont really fit to well right now.  She likes them because “They make my but look good!”  So, we took some bump from the back photos!  ;)

Carrie~  I hope you had as much fun as I did!  thanks for letting me take your photos and for being willing to try fun things!  I can’t wait to see miss Bailee!!!!  If she is half as pretty as you she will be a heartbreaker!  :)  Love ya Girl!  And if you need anything, you got my number!  ;)

Elijah is 3!

June 24, 2010

My baby is 3!  I can not believe it!  He has been 3 for almost a week now.  I am late getting Emans 3 year pics done partly because we had family in town, partly because we got the flu (more on that later), and partly because ask any photographer and they will tell you that photographing your own kid is hard!  Im not sure why, maybe it is because of the extreme familiarity and outright stubbornness kids have with their own parents.  I think I only got 3 photos of him actually looking at me.  I did get alot that I loved, though!

I had originally planed on taking Eman to the Idaho Botanical Gardens to use the “zone 3″ as a prop.  But getting there was quite an adventure in itself.  After having the flu all day Tuesday (I’ll spare you the details), I, for some stupid reason, decided that Wednesday I was well enough to ride my bike to the Idaho Botanical Gardens towing Eman in the bike trailer.  We got there just fine, and even saw giraffes poking their heads over the zoo fence along the way!  We spent about an hour and a half walking around and playing!

Soon Elijah started asking “Were is the Awa?”  )awa ia his word for water…dont ask me why, cuz im not sure.)  I told him it was at the bike and we could go home now if he wanted.  on the way to the bike Elijah had other ideas!

By the time we  got back to the bike, Eman was less then interested in getting his picture taken.

So off we went, with me only about 12 hours in to recovery from the flu and about 8 miles to ride home.  One thing you should know about me is I am a water drinker.  In fact it is almost the only thing I ever drink.  So dehydration is not really ever a problem for me.  The other thing you need to know is I am deathly allergic to milk.  Im  not talking lactose intolerant…Im talking ALLERGIC!  Well I thought it was a warm day, I would stop and buy Eman an ice cream sandwich.  He ate half and said he did not want more.  I didn’t want it to melt all over the bike trailer, so I ate the other half…and then 3 miles in I started to puke!  I toughed it out and rode to the nearest playground and then texted my friend, DJ, to come rescue me with his truck.  (Thanks DJ!!!)  It is a good thing I did because after I asked him to I puked again.  Lesson learned…dont ride your bike 13 miles and eat ice cream when you are recovering from the flu!  But it was for a good cause right?  quality time with my baby, and cute pictures like this one:

Elijah~  I am so proud of you turning 3!  You are such a big boy and mommy’s little man!  I love that you can always make me smile and my heart warm!  I am excited to see what this year has in store for you!  Love you, baby!

If you want to see more photos of Eman turning 3 visit my Facebook page!  And as always, contact me if you would like to book a session.

Well we went to Wyoming, for my brothers wedding!  My little guy, Eman, was suppose to be a ring bearer.  He did a great job.  He walked down the aisle, stood there, and payed attention…looking very serious.  I was very proud of him.  Then he did something unexpected, and stole the show!

The Bride and groom already said it was ok for him to walk off the stage, and had positioned me in the front row so he could easily get to me.  What happened next was unexpected!

I was not the photographer at the wedding, I was the sister, and the ring bearers mom.  But unknown to me, I was also the photographers mom!  I never let Elijah play with my camera.  It, and almost everything pertaining to it such as lenses, batteries, and memory cards, are STRICTLY off limits!  I know he has seen me shoot before, but I did not realize he understood what I was doing!

Notice how he, like his mom, is not afraid to lie on the ground to get great shots!  This is why I wear pants to a wedding.  Now granted, I will not be lying on the stage during the ceremony, but he understands, its about making the bride look good!  :)

If you look at the screen, you can see his excellent composition skills!  ;)  Haha!  It was great to watch him.  I guess it goes to show you, be careful what you do around children…because eventually they will copy you!

Like all wedding photographers, he was tired after his long day of “work.”

Know he has a better understanding as to why mommy is so tired after shooting a wedding!  We have some of his photos posted on facebook, so be sure to take a look at a photographer in the making!  He will be available to second shoot for me in the year 2022!  :)

I have personally never used online dating services, but I know people who have.  Some of my close friends are happily married and a few even have children, and they used online dating services.  I even have a few clients that met through online dating services and now I am taking their wedding photos.  Thing what you may, it seems to work!

Although I have never used an online dating service, I am pretty active on facebook and other social media sites.  One think that really makes me crazy is when someone uses a blurry or outdated photo to represent themselves.  I can see how this would be a big problem if you were trying to date online.  That is why when I saw the accuphoto program I signed up to be one of the photographers.  This is a company working with sites like eharmony and match.com to assure the photo you are looking at is an accurate representation of the person you may want to meet!  You get a photo shoot and a choice of 2 low res photos, from 10 photos that are perfectly sized for the sight you want to put them on.  The photos will be “certified” gaurenteeing that they are really a accurate representation of you.  And they will look great!  As a professional photographer I know what angles to shoot from and poses to have you in to make you look your best!  Like this photo my wonderful husband took of me!  :)

So here is to finding love!  Now go check out ACCUPHOTO!

Road Trip!

June 2, 2010

I recently got to go on a road trip to Casper Wyoming!  If you pay attention to my blog, you know why I went…but I am not posting any photos from the reason yet…you you will have to wait.

As some of you know, I was born, and for the most part raised in God’s Country, MONTANA!  I would not have it any other way!  I love Montana and all it has to offer, and it will always be my home!   However, sometime between birth and 6th grade, I lived in Casper, Wyoming.  I only lived there for 9 months of my life, but I am still friends with alot of the people I met there!  I just want to say a quick Thank you to all the Wyoming people, not just in casper, that have played a part in my upbringing and helping to make me the great, wonderful, and humble :) person I am today!  Im glad the event that took place this last weekend was in Casper, so I could reconnect with all of you, and see you all again.

For those of you who have never been to Wyoming…they have some great natural resources there…one of them being WIND!  Im glad to see they are putting it to use!  This beautiful photo was taken out the window in a moving vehicle, with me holding on to my camera for dear life.  Let me tell you…The wind was blowing!!!!

We also decided to use the wind to our advantage.  E-man has recently become interested in kites.  Here in Boise he runs up and down our long gravel driveway, with a kite behind him and about 6 inches of string let out.  He loves it!  While we were in Wyoming he asked us several times if he could fly a kite.  We went and got him one, and to his horror…it actually flew…and he did not even have to run!  Now, I say horror, because he was so worried it was going to float away and he would never get it back…he kept yelling up at the sky “OH NO! Kite mine!”   Haha!  I love being a mom!  :)

Stay tuned for more Wyoming trip photos soon!
