Can you believe it!? 2009 is coming to an end, and 2010 is here. It is time to say goodbye to my 2009 brides and start focusing on the great 2010 brides I have so far. This las year has been alot of fun for me and I really appreciate everyone who gave me a chance my first year owning my own business! I know i have made the right choice for me and my family, and appreciate your support!
Now for a little Best of review:
Who could forget the beauty and simplicity of the stolen moment of this kiss from Suzanne and Drew’s wedding:
I also really LOVED her bouquet
Then we had Elizabeth and David get married at the Hey Barn Event Center, this was a fun creative wedding!
I also love this photo because I feel like the girls look like magazine models!
Then we had Jayme and Robert get married at Christ’s Chapel. I LOVED this church, perfect for a smaller wedding!
Sharissa and Jeff also had a great wedding, filled with dancing and fun! This is a page from their album I did for them. It is a two page spread.
Good Bye 2009! Hello 2010! This Boise wedding photographer has had a lot of fun! Im excited to see what Brides, grooms, and creative ideas we get to work with in 2010!
I hope you all have a great Christmas Day! To all you future brides out there getting engaged today, congratulations! To all the babies out there having your first Christmas, I hope you enjoy it (and play with more than just the wrapping paper) to all the families, either young or old…make memories and cherish each other!
As for my family…I think it will be a while before I can get my son to leave his new CAR! He also got a ride on dump truck, so he takes turns, but has not even looked at something with out wheels! :)
I had the privilege of spending some time with Sara and Chris, my last family portraits of the year. Chris is a very handsome young man that makes taking photos easy! When I first got there I was introduced to the kitties.
This little cutie did not have a name yet. They had just gotten it that day. In order to make Chris feel more comfortable I let him show me the kitties and let him try to take a picture or two. We made a deal…I would take 5 pictures of him and the kitty and them he had to take a picture with his mom…
The plan seemed to work, and as soon as he felt comfortable with me, he turned in to a great subject! As a Boise family photographer, I realize it is really important to get the child to trust you and feel comfortable in order to get great photos.
After a couple formal indoor shots we went out side, and that is where the real fun began!
what is better than a slide??? Swinging with mommy of corse! :)
Then mommy helped me sit him in a tree to get some great portraits of Chris alone.
And last but not least…we chased some ducks!
Sara and Chris~ I really enjoyed getting to know you. You are a great little family, and I am excited to photograph you again in 2010! Merry Christmas!
I love getting referrals from people! This lovely family was referred to me by Liz and Anthony. Thanks Guys, your referral present is on the way! :)
When Audri contacted me to do a family portrait session and we decided on the date, I thought, “It’s going to be cold then.” I, however, never knew how cold it was going to be. Growing up in Montana, I have experienced some cold winters, but this one really caught me off guard. With a 70% chance of snow the day of the photo shoot, I was a little worried…But I could not have asked for better lighting, and no snowflakes! ;) The family chose the location of the “Biggest manmade waterfall in southern Idaho” located in the Quail Ridge subdivision.
We started off the photos session with this cutie. It was really funny because he would not stop smiling. I was asking him questions so he would loosen up, but he would not move, not even his mouth. He held that smile like he was on a mission! :) I think he might have gotten some coaching form mom! :)
It did not take long until I got him to relax a little and soon were getting shots like this:
Next we moved on to the baby…she was adorable. She was waving at me as I was taking her photo. I love this age. I really think that aside from newborns (10 days old or less) the 8-10 month range is the next best time to get photos taken. I mean just look at her…sitting on her own, and full of personality!
The family was doing one of my mini holiday sessions for the canned food. I dont know how they will chose only 5 photos with this precious girl around!
If that doesn’t make you smile and go “awww” this sibling love will!I love how she is making a face like, “Please brother, you are embarrassing me!” SO CUTE!
We could not leave mom and dad out. Often times when I ask a couple to take a photo of just he two of them they are shocked and say, “We have not had just the 2 of us professionally photographed since our wedding!” I bet if you ask these two they will say the same! Well, I say enough of that, show me the love of a lasting marriage! That is defiantly something to celebrate! It helps when the parents have a look that will pierce the camera with awesomeness. Seriously, I think Tyra Banks would call this your “fierce” look.
And last, but not least, a family photo…
Thanks for letting me take your photos and for braving the cold! It was fun! Im excited to take some racecar photos soon!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I know I did! My family went to Redmond Oregon to visit my husbands family. It was really fun. I got to see my nephew for the first time! We had some delicious food and got some R and R! Overall it was great! While the Turkey was in the oven roasting away for all the meat eaters, we went downtown Redmond to take a group photo.Believe me, It is not easy to take a photo of yourself in a group! We had our cameras sitting on a picnic table and used a combination of the self-timer and the remote. One of Seth’s sisters could not make it…KELLY WE LOVE YOU! I thought about photoshopping her in…but decided not to.
[As you may notice, our dog, Edgar, is missing form the picture. He stayed home and had fun with his new friend Gracie! I think he may have taught her some bad habits...he opened the gate and they both escaped! ;) Both are fine now, but leave it to my dog to cause some drama, he always has to be the life of the party, even when he is not there!]
After the group photo we took the boys to a park to try to get some cousin photos! They found dirt to play in…Boys will be Boys!
They climbed trees…[ok...we may have helped them a little]
